Big Data for Intelligence Symposium

Intelligence organizations across the Government must build the capacity to harness information being generated and collected at an alarming rate. Dramatic advances in IMINT and Open Source Intelligence alone are providing an unprecedented volume of data. Large data sets lead to more reliable information and intelligence, but the volume of unstructured data requires sophisticated capabilities in order to provide any actionable use. DSI's Big Data Symposium will tackle these difficult issues and provide guidance and tools for the community to use big data to its advantage.

This symposium will feature Government requirements for necessary applications and programs to support data analytics, storage, and security.

Specific topics include:

  • Technology that provides rapid and accurate analysis of large unstructured data sets
  • Improving data management through efficient representation
  • Empowering analysts with the tools and refined data to produce accurate intelligence information
  • Building an enterprise capable of handling current and future capacity estimated at up to 100x current data levels
  • Advancing predictive analytics to support battlefield operations
  • Advances in activity based intelligence
  • Managing time and volume to achieve mission success
