2026 Human Systems Conference
The 2026 NDIA Human Systems Division conference will explore the theme “Human Systems for a Secure and Resilient Future,” emphasizing the critical role of human systems in preparing for and adapting to a rapidly evolving threat landscape. As the pace of technological, geopolitical, and environmental change accelerates, the need for agile, human-centered systems has never been more urgent.
This year’s theme highlights how human systems research and development must not only keep pace with the rate of change but also proactively shape the infrastructure, technologies, and policies that underpin national security and resilience. The conference will spotlight innovations and strategies that ensure our systems (and the people within them) remain adaptive, effective, and secure. Attendees will engage with thought leaders across government, industry, and academia to explore how the human systems and related communities can drive readiness, resilience, and mission success in an era defined by uncertainty and speed. Topics will include emerging threats, human-machine teaming, the preservation of human relevance in complex systems, and the communities’ evolving role in shaping future defense capabilities.
The 2026 conference continues the NDIA Human Systems Division’s commitment to advancing the field of human systems as a vital strategy for enhancing total system performance and efficiency. Participants will gain insights into the latest research and technical innovations while contributing to a growing community dedicated to ensuring human systems remain at the forefront of national defense and security.
