Adobe LiveCycle User Group Webcast
Designing Section 508 Accessible Forms
When designing forms for a wide audience, it is important to consider some users may have disabilities affecting how they interact with the form, including vision impairment and reduced mobility. To accommodate the needs of all users, it is worthwhile to include certain practical design features and to test forms using various assistive technologies. The government has a requirement to ensure their Public Use, Internal Public Use, and Internal forms are compliant with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. This Act warrants all areas of all forms and instructions to be accessible to visually impaired users by utilizing commercial form reader software.
Join Carahsoft and AboutWeb, LLC as Dan Futrell, Senior Software Developer at AboutWeb, LLC, demonstrates Adobe LiveCycle ES Designer for Section 508 Accessibility compliance. Specifically Dan will cover:
- Conversational instructions for each fillable block using Tool Tips in Adobe LiveCycle ES
- Blocks that cannot be filled by a user will be described to the user
- Scripting that ensures the forms are accessible for the sight impaired
