Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCIs) and Personal Conflicts of Interest (PCIs): New and Pending Rules

The FAR’s conflict of interest regulations – and the law that has developed around them – can be challenging for even an experienced contractor.  Furthermore, some of these rules are in the midst of a once-in-a-generation overhaul, meaning that what was true in the past may not be true today or in the near future.  This webinar will provide an overview of the key principles of conflicts of interest old and new, including a review of the new personal conflict of interest rules which took effect on December 2, 2011 and a preview of the pending changes to the rules for addressing organizational conflicts of interest.  Having established the regulatory framework, the webinar will also provide best practice tips for identifying, avoiding, mitigating, and managing actual or potential conflicts of interest so that the government becomes your ally in the process, rather than your adversary.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the core principles of personal and organizational conflict of interest law in the context of procurements governed by the Federal Acquisition Regulation.
  • Become familiar with the new personal conflict of interest rules and the pending proposed changes to the rules governing organizational conflicts of interest.
  • Identify steps that can be taken to prevent actual or potential conflict of interest and appearances of impropriety from arising.
  • Understand a contractor’s obligation to proactively manage potential conflict of interest situations at the prime contractor and subcontractor level.
  • Learn how and when a contractor should approach the government with a conflict concern, and what preemptive steps can be taken to increase the chance of a successful resolution of the problem.
  • Learn how to respond after receiving notice that the government has identified actual or potential conflict of interest involving your firm or its employees.
  • Understand the ramifications for failing to properly address personal and organizational conflicts of interest.
  • And much, much more!

Who Will Benefit

This webinar will be of keen interest if you are a contractor, subcontractor, supplier, consultant, attorney or government procurement official and want to better understand the new frontier of conflict of interest law and how to manage conflicts at a time of increased government oversight. Get ahead of the curve -- Register your team today!
