OT/IoT Zero Trust Security for Water and Electric Systems
Recently, there has been a surge in alerts and warnings concerning cyberattacks from state-sponsored threat actors on U.S. critical infrastructure including water systems and electric distribution systems. EPA, CISA, and the FBI strongly recommend system operators take steps outlined in Top Actions for Securing Water Systems. In addition, DOE has released the Cybersecurity baseline and NERC has nearly finalized the update to CIP-015-1. Both guidelines suggest working towards the executive order from the office of the President to use zero trust as a guideline towards better cybersecurity. This webinar reviewed strategies for utilities to better protect against cybersecurity vulnerabilities, with an emphasis on OT/IoT.
During this webinar, attendees discovered:
- The current state of security for critical infrastructure
- Why OT/IoT is a favorite cyber-criminal target, with a 400% increase year over year
- The anatomy of a ransomware attack and aligning response strategies to attack vectors
- Zscaler’s Zero Trust Device Segmentation and how it can protect OT/IoT-connected organizations
