Contracting Fundamentals: Teaming, Subcontracting and Joint Ventures

Smart small to mid-size companies looking for increased success in the federal marketplace know that one proven way to grow is to team up with a larger, more successful business. This can be done through a teaming arrangement, a joint venture, a subcontract, or by exploring a mentor-protégé agreement. While these vehicles are a great opportunity for growth, there are associated risks that can trap the unprepared.

This 90-minute webinar will discuss some of the more important “red flags” to watch for, and will propose strategies for successfully taking advantage of these growth opportunities.

Learning Objectives

  • Recognize the difference between Teaming and Joint Venture Agreements.
  • Identify FAR considerations you must make when pursuing Teaming, Subcontracting, Joint Venture and Mentor-Protégé Agreements.
  • Understand the impact bankruptcy can have on your agreement.
  • Discover exclusivity, confidentiality and transparency concerns you should be aware of.
  • Define specific subcontracting problems and strategies to avoid or mitigate these issues.
  • Become familiar with FAR flow down and pass through clauses.
  • Learn how to handle performance issues in your teaming, subcontracting or joint venture relationship.
  • And much, much more!
