NVTC Smart Energy Committee

At CEQ, Ms. Shah has been helping to lead the Green Button Initiative, a White House-inspired and industry-led effort to empower customers with their own energy usage information in an easy-to-use, computer-friendly format. Part of the federal government's role has been to not only encourage utilities and other industry players to adopt the data standard but also to spur an ecosystem of innovation such as customer-facing tools, products, and services. Green Button has engaged utilities across the nation, as well as software developers and other parties, interested in the market potential for better access to energy data. She will provide an update on Green Button, and outline opportunities for NVTC members as this initiative continues to grow.
