Alex Wetherbee Charity Golf Tournament

Alex Wetherbee Charity Golf Tournament

On Wednesday, June 13, The Intelligence Community will gather for a day of charitable contribution in honor of the servicemen and women who, through their service and sacrifice, allow us to spend this time in freedom & security.

The Alex Wetherbee Charity Golf Tournament is a unique event on the INSA Calendar. One day a year, the INSA membership participates in some friendly competition to raise money for an important cause and honor the sacrifice of the servicemen and women by giving graciously to others.

Proceeds from the Alex Wetherbee Charity Golf Tournament go to support the Alex Wetherbee Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship was established, with Outward Bound, in 2004 to assist students to attend a 14-day Outward Bound course in memory of Alex Wetherbee. This scholarship opportunity and student selection is administered in conjunction with the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors and the American Red Cross.

Participants in the Alex Wetherbee Charity Golf Tournament will test their skills against one of the mid Atlantic’s finest courses - Robert Trent Jones, II Course at the Golf Club at Lansdowne. Rated 4.5 stars by Golf Digest, this unrivalled 18-hole layout incorporates fields, woodlands, natural stone outcroppings and centuries-old rock walls. While friendly, the strategic layout will test the skills of both the accomplished and novice golfer. This par-72, 7,063-yard classic promises a memorable round every time.
