Practical Transparency: Applying Exchange Networks for Mission Results

Webinar: The need to collect, exchange and analyze large amounts of data--about health records, environmental measurements and stimulus spending, for exampleis transforming the way government works. And in the future, agencies will rely even more on information exchange as a means of accomplishing Americas business.

The Environmental Protection Agency is on the forefront of tackling this challenge through the EPA Exchange Network. The network is a partnership among states, tribes, and the EPA that is revolutionizing the environmental information sharing. Partners on the Exchange Network share data efficiently and securely over the Internet on missions spanning the Recovery Act, air, water, toxics and waste. This new approach is providing real-time access to high-quality data while saving time, resources, and money for partner states, tribes, and territories.

Speaker and Presenter Information

Lisa Schlosser, Director of EPAs Office of Information Collection, manages EPAs stewardship of the Exchange Network. She will share the story of the network and outline how other agencies and states can improve mission delivery by leveraging the EPA model.

Schlosser joins CGI Initiative for Collaborative Government Director Andrew McLauchlin in a visionary discussion of lessons learned from the EPA Exchange Network and how application of exchange networks can help executives across government make transparency and data exchange practical and useful in meeting operational and mission objectives.
