Green Government: Are Agencies Leading By Example?
Sustainability and energy efficiency are major initiatives for the Obama Administration, and the president has ordered the federal government to “lead by example.” But preliminary results from a survey of federal employees conducted by the Government Business Council say that sustainability efforts are underfunded in agency budgets, overshadowed by competing priorities, and hampered by bureaucratic barriers.
