This monthly meetup will feature two panelists. Michael Alvarez,  Professor of Political and Computational Social Science at California Institute of Technology, and Dr. Kyung Sung, Associate Professor of Radiology, Bioengineering, and Physics & Biology in Medicine at UCLA. Dr. Sung and his research group have successfully developed and deployed novel deep learning algorithms and quantitative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques for early diagnosis, treatment guidance, and therapeutic response in cancer.

We’ll be discussing how they got started, the tools they use, what inspires their progress, and the biggest challenges they’ve had to overcome. We also set aside ample time for questions, so bring your questions, challenges and imagination!
