A New Data Direction for Government: Protecting, Securing and Optimizing Your Information

Data is at the center of everything government does. And advances in technology have enabled public sector organizations to gather more information than ever before. But translating all that data into decisions still presents a challenge to many state and local agencies.

To help governments better understand the current data landscape – the promises, the challenges and the strategies to help you get all the data you need to everyone who needs it, quickly and securely – Government Technology is partnering with Oracle on a special two-part webcast series with former Utah CIO Mike Hussey.

In Part 1 of this conversation, on March 17, we’ll talk with Hussey about how government’s data needs have changed, and how to best make use of real-time data to drive decision-making. This half-hour discussion will also focus on:

  • What agencies can do to keep their data secure in the face of external and internal threats
  • How to ensure data privacy for constituents
  • How to improve management and analytics throughout your data life cycle

And on April 26, make plans to join us for Part 2 of our conversation with Hussey, where we’ll look at how governments can truly translate data into action.
