Managing Accelerated Tech for the New Era of Everywhere Access
As K-12 schools begin their third school year disrupted by the pandemic, they face pressing challenges. COVID-19 forced schools to quickly launch or accelerate 1:1 programs allowing students to take home devices for remote learning. Now, as most schools are welcoming students back to the classroom for in-person education, they’re also seeing an abundance of endpoint devices coming back to campus – and many schools need to update their structures, processes, and policies to manage these devices for the years ahead.
It's crucial for schools and school districts to develop comprehensive, forward-looking services and practices to manage this new fleet of technology. With the right strategies in place, K-12 educators can ensure they are integrating technology effectively and efficiently and embracing an enhanced education model that leverages technology to enhance in-person learning.
The Center for Digital Education and our partners at Dell Technologies have invited educational leaders for a virtual panel discussion on this important topic. This discussion will cover a number of topics, including:
- Developing a cohesive technology plan for managing 1:1 devices to enhance instruction
- Outlining plans for ongoing maintenance, accidental damage and much more
- Budgeting and financing for the long term – especially after federal funding dries up
- Pursuing digital equity and inclusion efforts, including broadband access and digital literacy initiatives
