Small Business Certifications for Federal, State & Local Government Contracts

This virtual seminar is an overview of the current small business socio-economic certifications in federal, local state and city government. The federal government spends over $500 billion in goods and services each year, and 23% of this spend is set aside for small businesses. With state and local activity, there are established goals to spend a certain percentage of a contract with women and minority owned businesses. We will cover the purpose, eligibility rules, recent updates, benefits of certification and a summarize the application process for the following certifications: - Federal: 8a, HUBZone, Woman-owned Small Business (WOSB/EDWOSB) and Veteran-owned Small Business (VOSB/SDVOSB) - Department of Transportation: Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) - State/Local: Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), Woman Business Enterprise (WBE) and Service Disabled Veteran Enterprise (SDVE) Instructor: Michelle Cunningham Once you have registered, a zoom link will be emailed to you.
