With large amounts of data being collected and urgent time responses needed, you’ll want to bring the intelligence to the edge for processing data and only send the important data to the cloud. We’ll take a deep dive on using an IoT Edge device as a gateway, and you’ll learn the different scenarios where an IoT Edge device is on an enterprise network (needs proxy settings) or needs extended offline capabilities.

In the lab exercises for this module you will:

• Set up an IoT Edge gateway.
• Develop, deploy, and debug a custom module on Azure IoT Edge with VS code.
• Run an IoT Edge device in a restricted network and offline.
