What the Heck is DCAA Compliance? [#B2GEDU Workshop]
What the Heck is DCAA Compliance?
The government financial management system review initiated under the Clinton Administration in 1998 resulted in a requirement that all government contractors engaging in cost reimbursable contracts have their system certified as DCAA compliant prior to award. Until recently this requirement was nearly never enforced for companies awarded Time and Materials (T&M) contracts. As the result of a Government Accountability Office (GAO) audit of the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) last fall, compliance is now being enforced for all companies, large and small doing CPFF or T&M contracts as a prime or subcontractor.
In this workshop participants will receive an overview of what it takes to become compliant including:
- What is "compliance?”
- When are audits conducted?
- Who conducts the audits?
- What is needed to be found compliant?
- Will your current system suffice?
This session is for business owners with little or no experience in government contract accounting and DCAA compliance to help them become aware of how to achieve DCAA compliance.
