BGOV Artificial Intelligence in the Federal Government
Artificial Intelligence is quickly becoming more science fact than science fiction. And despite concerns about thinking machines taking human jobs — or one day outsmarting their makers — the federal government’s investment in the technology is growing, and could be applied to a wide range of functions, from health care to public safety and defense/intelligence applications to employee performance.
Can cognitive technologies do government employees’ thinking for them? Not yet. But they can augment their capabilities and free up millions of labor hours for more critical tasks and deliver better, faster services. They can reduce backlogs, redesign government work, cut costs, overcome resource constraints, enable more accurate predictions and do myriad tasks not previously practical for humans to do on our own.
Join BGOV senior analyst, Cameron Leuthy, and Deloitte Center for Government Insights executive director, William D. Eggers, to examine how cognitive technologies are advancing government.
