AFCEA International 70th Anniversary and Sarnoff Award Celebration

Seventy years ago, a group of respected military and corporate leaders gathered to discuss a shared interest in the aftermath of World War II. They wanted to ensure that military and industry organizations remained in a strong partnership, extending wartime preparedness and technological advancements into the future. Their collaboration was the spark that began AFCEA International. One of the many visionaries in the group was Brig. Gen. David Sarnoff, USAR, who was president of RCA and served on President Dwight D. Eisenhower's communications staff during World War II.

Every year, AFCEA honors an individual who has made lasting and significant contributions to global peace and security with its most prestigious award, named after David Sarnoff. Each recipient in his or her unique way has demonstrated a sustained and personal commitment to information sharing and collaboration across traditional and nontraditional boundaries.

This year, AFCEA International proudly celebrates its 70TH ANNIVERSARY in coordination with the presentation of the 2016 David Sarnoff Award to Alfred Grasso.
