Protecting Your Organization�s Image in the Face of Adversity: Lessons from the Lance Armstrong Case
How do you maintain your organization’s public image in the midst of a sustained period of controversy? Annie Skinner, Senior Communications Manager for the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), will share her experience creating and implementing a crisis communications strategy in the face of intense public scrutiny. She will discuss media relations, public relations, internal communications, brand management, the role of social media, and share her lessons learned.

Speaker and Presenter Information
Annie Skinner has been a part of the USADA team since 2011, when she was hired on as the organization’s Media Relations Manager. In her current position as Senior Communications Manager she manages external communications, including media relations, works with external stakeholders, and oversees the organization’s social media efforts and websites. Prior to Joining USADA, Annie spent three years as the Manager of Public Information for the Special District Association of Colorado. Annie is also a former member of the news media, having spent more than 7 years working as an Assignment Editor for broadcast news stations both in Washington State and Denver. Annie is a graduate of Syracuse University where she attended the S.I Newhouse School of Public Communication and majored in broadcast journalism and political science.
