NVTC Cybersecurity & Privacy Committee Event
"Won't Get Fooled Again"- Protect Yourself Against Phishing, Mobile Attacks and Social Engineering
There is no shortage of cybersecurity conferences that provide theoretical information or after-the-fact accounts of cybersecurity events. The real challenge is to understand what specific things each of us can do to avoid becoming a victim, meaning practical security advice from industry experts.
This event will specifically address cybersecurity and privacy challenges that we all face every day, such as:
- Mobile security and privacy: device settings, configurations, policies, apps, etc. that can be used to improve mobile security and privacy.
- Social engineering: how to recognize and avoid social engineering exploits such as phishing.
- General privacy considerations: guidelines for using social media, e.g., how to take full advantage of privacy settings on Facebook, LinkedIn, etc., how to protect Personally Identifiable Information (PII) before you send via email, and how to secure text messages and phone calls.
The Cybersecurity and Privacy Committee’s goal is to provide actionable information that you can immediately apply, making you and your organization more secure so you won't get fooled again!
